WMCNZ 2020 Nominations

Nominations are Called for:
- National Superintendent (for a 2 year term)

Assistant National Superintendent - Church Development (for a 4 year term)

National Secretary (for a 4 year term)
- Five (5) National Council Members (for a 2 year term)
Elections for these roles will be held during National Conference 2020 on Friday 6 November as part of ConneXion 2020.

Closing Dates for Nominations
In accordance with the National Constitution Nominations for National Superintendent, Assistant National Superintendent - Church Development AND National Secretary close at 12:00 noon on Sunday 20 September (National Constitution para 422 (2) a))
Nominations for National Council Members close at 12:00 noon on Saturday 3 October (National Constitution para 422 (2) b))
Positions NOT being elected in 2020
Please note that the following National Officers were elected in 2018 for a 4 year term which will end in 2022 and therefore are not being elected at this Conference.

Submitting Nominations
Nominations can be submitted (National Constitution para 422 (1)) by

WMCNZ churches

Ordained Ministers (Pastors) of the WMCNZ

Licensed Ministers (Pastors) of the WMCNZ

Commissioned Ministers (Pastors) of the WMCNZ
-
Supply Ministers (National Constitution para 351)

Lay Pastors appointed by the National Superintendent to lead a WMCNZ church (National Constitution para 216 (2) and 218)

Lay representatives and lay observers from each church to the National Conference (National Constitution para 216, 219 and 222)

Currently serving National Council members
After Nomination
Nominees have the opportunity to accept or decline the nomination.
The National Council will follow a discernment process to determine which of the nominees it believes have the gifts, calling and readiness to assume the role for which they have been nominated. Council will present to the members of conference (National Constitution para 402) one or more nominations for each of the National Officers to be elected by the National Conference, no later than 2 weeks before the Conference is convened, for member’s prayerful consideration. (National Constitution para 423-429)
Election
The names of those who have accepted nomination for National Council Member along with the names of those National Council nominate for National Officers will be placed on the ballot for the elections which will be held during the National Conference on Friday 6 November.
