Crossing Into New Life

Five Rangatahi from Redhill, Papakura are drawing closer to Jesus at a Wednesday after-school youth group held at Papakura Wesleyan Church. These students have consistently been part of the youth group for just over a year, even amidst the ups and downs of 2020. It has been a humbling experience to see the Holy Spirit at work in their lives and in the lives of their whanau.
At our final youth group meeting in 2020, all five students expressed a commitment to Christ on some level! One the more silent youth wrote in the survey, ‘I will learn to love Jesus and my enemies.’
Four out of the five youth attended WYCAMP 2021.
A Christian youth camp was a first-time experience for these students. One student was deeply impacted by the talk that focused on grief. Another student without a church background was grateful to learn how God’s love transcends our circumstances and that he is even with us in his grief.
Following WYCAMP, one of the older youth who attended camp showed up to Sunday worship, prompt and early with a fresh haircut!
2021 will be an important year in the lives of these five students as they learn more about Jesus. Please keep them in prayer as they cross into new life in Jesus.
