This past Sunday represented a significant milestone in Rev Dr Richard Waugh’s recovery journey as he preached his first message at East City Wesleyan since Christmas 2019!  Taking Luke 10:25-37 as his text, Rev Waugh drew comparisons between the parable of the Good Samaritan and the life and ministry of TV show host Rev Fred Rogers aka “Mister Rogers”.  “A Beautiful Day in the Neighbourhood” was part of East City Wesleyan’s “At the Movies” series where popular movie themes are interwoven with the timeless truths of scripture, to present gospel challenges for the 21st century.

The day was made special by the attendance of Saioni Wesleyan who opened the service with an inspiring introit.  Rev Brett Jones was in attendance to bring greetings from the National church.  Richard will continue to preach on a monthly basis with Rev Josh Bowlin remaining as Senior Minister for this initial reentry period.  Rev Brett Jones will continue as National Superintendent pending a further review in mid September.

We give thanks and praise to God for His sustaining presence in Richard and Jane’s life and ministry.
